Small but mighty in the heart of Marlborough.
Created thoughtfully, and with care, Alcove Wines come from a boutique, organic-certified Syrah vineyard on Rapaura Road, a premium Marlborough sub-region.
Established in 2010 as ancillary planting to the onsite restaurant cellar door by the previous owners Giesen Wines, owners Mike and Zana Whittaker took over the property in 2021 with a passion to keep the vineyard's organic status.
The vineyard is close-planted in an old world style in low-trellised 877 clone Syrah vines, and is hand cared for by Mike and Zana.
Working alongside winemakers Aaron Zuccaro and his partner Bec, who are focused on low-intervention winemaking, wines produced from the block are organic, vegan-friendly and expertly crafted.
